I have not read the books...just haven't been that interested in them but I was curious why all these women were flocking to the movies and reading the books multiple times. I really liked what the Botkin's had to say but I must admit it made several of my friends quite upset. They are Christians but enjoy the "escape" of the book and the somewhat unique story. I've noticed that those who've read the books become very defensive when you start to ask why they're drawn to it. I definitely think that in this case the "escape" is probably not worth it. I read both articles and I completely agree w/ both! Twilight has had SO much influence over girls and women, and I'm glad others feel the way I do about the evil contained in both the books and movies. One of my good friends, a pastor's daughter, has the entire series on her shelf... and I've had to discuss the issue of the books with young pre-teens at my Bible Study in the past. I pray for eyes and hearts to be open to Truth. Thank you for sharing these...I pray someone gleans wisdom and understanding from the information provided. I am with you on this.
